Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi, everyone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. While this was not technically Julia's first Thanksgiving, it was her first that she didn't spend in her swaddler strapped into her bouncy seat like a mental patient to try to keep her from crying! (Though today she is teething (her top teeth are finally coming in!) and has been quite a crab for mommy and daddy...) Our friends Mike and Christi were here as per tradition. Daddy made the turkey, which was excellent if I may say so myself, and most of the sides, with help from Christi and Trader Joe... Here are some photos, so enjoy!

Julia's Birthday Video!
Finally, the video from J's party that I have been promising. I figured out how to use iMovie on our new Mac and it's pretty cool! More will come soon. Enjoy! (BTW, for the geezers out there, I'm now putting them on Youtube, so you can click on the video, then click on "view in high quality" and see it in fullscreen, if you like...)

Fall fun continues!
Weekend's almost over, but we had some fun. Here are a few great fall pictures of our little girl:

Lastly, this was a very important week for Julia, and all of us, I think. I will never forget Tuesday night, and I will be proud to be able to tell Julia about this historic election when she gets old enough to understand what it means. After eight years of cynicism and frustration, I finally have some hope about the future, especially for my little girl... Jesse wasn't the only one who shed tears of joy on Election Night!

Halloween and Fall fun!
The weather here is getting chilly, and the end of daylight savings means 6 months of crippling depression here in Connecticut, except for Julia, who's doing great! She had a really nice time on Halloween, when she dressed up as a Tulip Fairy. First, she had a little parade through the nursing home that her day care is affiliated with, which the residents really enjoyed. Later in the day, we went trick or treating in Fairfield Center, where all of the local businesses were giving away candy and treats (those were mostly for Daddy, though). In the evening, Julia loved greeting the trick or treaters with a big smile, though she was sad when they left!
Oh, and the big news was that Julesie said her first official word today! Spoiler alert, here it is:... SHOE! That's right, Julia's first word may signal a lifetime of affinity for footwear. She said it over and over, and actually knew that it was for her little tiny shoe. Aww.... OK, here are some pics, some of Halloween, some just too cute not to post. Enjoy.
