An Assortment of Photos for your Viewing Pleasure
Last Saturday we went out to Long Island to visit with Aunt Fran, Uncle Tony and Cousins Charles & Alexa. A good time was had by all.
And we have the pictures to prove it!
Julesie in her awesome Passover bib (thanks Aunt Christi & Uncle Mike!), enjoying attention from Aunt Fran:

Just hanging out:

With Alexa:

We had a middle-of-the-week, post-work/post-school walk with Mom Erika and Son William:

And then a Friday playdate with T.J. (As you may know, T.J. and Julia had the same due date -- October 16 -- but T.J.'s mom, Liz, was scheduled for a c-section on the 10th. Little did we know they would end up with the same birthday since Julia arrived early, in fact 3 hours before T.J.):

Springtime = Swingtime
Spring has finally sprung up north. Yesterday's playgroup was spent outside at Alex's house, where Julia got her first taste of a swing that does not plug into a wall...and she loved it. Here's some video:
Since yesterday was spring, I guess it follows that today is summer. Today it will be 80! Here are a couple of morning pics in Julia's sunsuit and hat:

Hello, New York!
Hello, again! We just got home from Julia's first trip to the Big Apple! We were going in for a little wedding party on Saturday night, and decided to stay over in a hotel, so we got to walk all around today and have a nice brunch.
But first, some video of Julesie and Christi (with Mike taking pics).
After a fun night in CT, we headed to the big city. Julesie stayed in Friday night with a babysitter, while Mommy & Daddy went to the wedding reception at the Hotel Gansevoort.
The next morning, Julesie was starving so after her morning bottle, she licked some of Daddy's protein bar (don't tell the pediatrician!). This is the result:

Then we headed downtown. Here is Julia doing some window shopping at Marc Jacobs.
And what has now become my absolutely favorite picture of all time, a lovely one of Mommy and Julesie, suitable for framing:

Just enjoying the West Village:
A happy baby in NYC!

And this one says it all:

Saturday fun, and we know a movie star...
Morning all! Here is the first video post from our new little camera, the Flip Video. Very easy and fun to use.
Our good friends Mike and Christi are here, and they give us a big surprise. Watch this vid and skip to about 1:10 to have your mind blown (if you know Mike, that is)...
He is the man! Somehow or another, through his poker connections and his leading man looks he managed to get a part in the first English-language film by Wong Kar-Wai, called My Blueberry Nights, starting Norah Jones, Jude Law, and, of course, Natalie Portman. They choose his scene for the publicity clip, obviously because of the chemistry between the two of them... Watch out! Fortunately, he's still willing to hang out with us, even though he is clearly so much cooler.

Six Months and Crawling
As some of you may have heard, J-bird has started crawling. She's not terribly proficient at it, but she can move herself. The catch is she can only do this backwards. So she tries to reach for the toy in front of her and ends up even further from it then when she started. Her newfound mobility means we will soon be kicked out of Mommy & Me Yoga since it's strictly for the pre-crawling set. We'll have to figure out some other way to spend our Thursday mornings.
In the meantime, photos!
Here is Julia in her totally hip highchair -- the Stokke Tripp Trapp.

Her father's daughter:

Are you sure this cool Merimekko outfit from Aunt Randy & Uncle Ian doesn't make me look fat?

Eh, you only live once!

It was 70 degrees here today, so playgroup was held at the beach. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics, but mom Alex and daughter Emma recently returned from a trip to Germany and brought all the babies little gifts. Here is Julia sporting shtetl chic straight from the streets of Frankfurt:

And the back:

We also tried the BabyHawk in the back carry for the first time:

But the highlight of the day was her SIX MONTH PICTURE!

And a final shot of happy Baby Julia on her six-month birthday:

Assorted videos
Here's one hot off the presses: Julesie hanging out rocker-style...
Next, Julia hanging out last weekend in the (almost) buff, once again enjoying her toes:
The jumperoo! Oh, thank God for the jumperoo...
Julia is doing great at most things, but has not been enjoying solid food very much. Rice cereal has been largely a disaster, but she seems to enjoy bananas a bit more. Here's her first taste:
Here's a video of Julia enjoying a wonderful snow day a month or two ago. She looks puzzled but not unpleasantly so!
Here's Julia & Sacha dancing together on our brunch day a while back:

Mish Mosh
No real narrative here but a few shots from the past week. Here is Julesie looking particularly cute before heading off for school:

And two quick shots from this week's yoga class. They're not the greatest in terms of quality because they're from a phone, but you get the idea.
Here is Julia with Ruby (the happiest baby I've ever seen):

And Julia with Wyatt:

Ladies and gentlemen, we've got a sitter!
Over the past few days, Julesie has started to sit up unassisted. Now she can't do this for very long -- inevitably she topples to one side -- but she sits up for a little more time each day. Here are some pics from Friday:

After playing, we decided to head off to our favorite mall, The Westchester. Here is a pic of Julesie at the best Bloomingdale's restaurant of all time, 40 Carrots.

And what was in the bag? Why an outfit for Julia of course!
Daily Tea Bird Branch Tee

And Daily Tea Fan Flower Skirt

Both from Tea Collection
After a long day's shopping, it's off to bed.
Only to wake up the next morning, hung over from all that shopping, to read the NYT:

It's fun being a girl!
