We're back!

Hi, everyone! We just got back from Florida last night (didn't get home until almost 2 am...ugh). I'll be posting with plenty of pics/videos from Christmas, but for now, two videos: The first is of our baby naming ceremony at my dad's restaurant, which was really nice. The second is of Julia shaking her rattle this morning, for the first time! As usual, she was doing more of it before I made it down with the camera, but you get the idea here. (Actually, I think the baby naming one is too large to upload, but I'll work on it--sorry for the tease...) PPS None of the video stuff is working...I'll fix this soon.

Chanukkah Fun!

Hey, folks! We started celebrating Chanukkah, as most of you did, by playing some dreidel, eating some latkes (with bacon and eggs), and decorating our Xmas tree. You can see our tree topper celebrates the person we are most in awe of this year, Amy Winehouse (we're worried she won't survive until next Xmas, cause she's so crazy...).

Baby's First Thanksgiving, and a Visit from Dido

Hi, everyone! We had a great long weekend, and we're sorry to see it end. Friends Christi and Mike were here for an enjoyable Thanksgiving with food and games, and then Dido (that's grandpa in Croatian if you didn't know) was here for a brief visit. We had a lot of fun, went for walks, and bought a Christmas tree. As you'll see, Little Julia is smiling a lot more, which makes us melt inside. We hope everyone had a great holiday and we missed you all.

Bath Time!

So, we've discovered that one activity that quiets little J. during Cranky Time(tm) is taking a nice warm bath! We got some great pics during tonight's bath; warning, these are NSFW...just kidding. For some reason, she started licking my finger like a candy cane--I guess she's already looking forward to her first Christmas!

Family Visit!

So, Julia was very excited to meet more of her family this past weekend. My mom and Aunt Teri came for the weekend, and we had a special visit from Aunt Fran, Uncle Tony, Cousin Grace (with more cousins Lauren and Marco), and Cousin Charles. We had a great time, with lox and bagels.

Marco brought his Wii, which was a hit, though I, like Chris, may need rotator cuff surgery after a few rounds of Wii bowling--it's tiring! Julia's newest accoutrements are her "Baby Legs", which are like tiny Jane Fonda-style leg warmers...she looks very cool in them, doesn't she?

By the way, she had a visit to the doctor, and she's now 9 lbs 5 oz! She's getting so big...

4 weeks old and loving it!

Carrie took some great pix in commemoration of this big day, even though she got the date wrong and she is 4 weeks old, not one month old. Now if Julia had been born in February, she'd be correct, but alas. The pictures still rock, though...(even if Little J. clearly did not enjoy taking all of them).

Chillaxin' on the weekend

Hey, folks! Things are going pretty well here this weekend, though the little girl is a bit crabby today. Carrie's giving her a bath as we speak, but I want to post a few other tidbits. Overall we are getting better at this taking care of baby thing little by little, and getting used to not getting many hours of sleep in a row! For whoever's interested, we are going to be going down to Florida from 12/19 - 12/28, so we should get to see the whole Florida crew then, as well as Chris, Maggie, and the kids from SC, and Carrie's bro/sis-in-law Brian and Laura, who will be visiting from LA (that's Los Angeles, not Louisiana...). (Oh, I'll make a plug for Laura's new show "Dirty Sexy Money" which is on ABC Wednesday nights at 10 pm--she plays Peter Krause's secretary...it's a really good show!).

By the way, the flying was a last ditch attempt to get her to stop crying, and it worked! You do what you gotta do...

Julia's First Halloween!

Some more pictures of the little girl, this time with pumpkin onesie and hat courtesy of Nana (that's Anna to you...), and G 'n' R bib from Carrie's bro Brian. I tried to get her to throw some horns, but alas, she's not quite ready for that yet.

Fortunately, she just stopped crying after an hour of shaking, rocking, bouncing, shushing, swaddling, etc. That's what happens when...
